Elisa Giuliani (Ph.D., University of Pisa; Ph.D., SPRU, University of Sussex) is Professor of Management at the Department of Economics and Management of the University of Pisa, where she is also founder and director of the Responsible Management Research Center.
Elisa was a Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute in 2004 and an ESRC Postdoctoral Fellow at SPRU in 2005. She has held visiting professorships at MIT Sloan School of Management, Bocconi University, and Lund University.
Elisa’s research is interdisciplinary. She is interested in understanding how companies contribute to or hamper societal wellbeing. She has recently coordinated a Horizon Europe project on business and democracy (Rebalance).
Elisa is ranked among the top 2% of scientists in the Elsevier–Stanford global ranking and is the recipient of an ERC Synergy Grant for the period 2026–2032. Elisa has published over 40 peer reviewed articles in international journals and has over 14,000 citations in GoogleScholar.
She is currently Editor for Research Policy and Associate Editor for the Academy of Management Annals.
